The Role: Occupational Health Technician - South Region

We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the health and well-being of our workforce across our southern projects and sites.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive health surveillance, screenings, and fitness-for-role medical assessments to employees.
  • Conduct a range of clinical tasks, including pulse and blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol checks, height/weight/BMI measurements, audiology tests, spirometry, skin assessments, urinalysis, drug & alcohol screening, vision testing, and musculoskeletal assessments.
  • Gather medical data from various sources, such as questionnaires, consultations, medical equipment, and escalate appropriately according to clinical standards and procedures.
  • Support our workforce by actively participating in well-being, health & safety initiatives.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive medical information.
  • Collaborate effectively with the wider occupational health and wellbeing team, working both autonomously and as part of a cohesive unit.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control measures during clinical tasks.
  • Manage medical equipment, including calibration checks and ordering supplies.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as diary management, maintaining health records, and data input.

Your Profile:

  • Previous experience in occupational health, care sector, sports science, fitness instruction, or healthcare is highly desirable.
  • Completion of an occupational health technicians' course and/or standalone courses for health surveillance (e.g., audiology, spirometry, HAVS) is preferred, or a willingness to pursue these qualifications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a strong customer service orientation are essential.
  • A solid understanding of occupational health principles and the broader organizational context is beneficial.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships across all levels within the organization is crucial.
  • You must be able to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and demonstrate reliability, punctuality, motivation, and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are key attributes for this role.
