Job Title: Chef/Cook

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chef/Cook to join our team at Elmbank Nursing Home. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality meals for our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents, following a four-weekly rotating menu
  • Cater for special dietary requirements, such as modified texture meals, religious preferences, and other needs
  • Ensure all temperature records are up to date, cleaning rotas are followed, and food safety requirements are met
  • Minimise waste and adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Supervise kitchen assistants, order stock, and manage the kitchen
  • Ensure the kitchen area is always clean and tidy
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar environment, preferably in healthcare
  • Food hygiene certificate (Level 2 & above or similar)
  • Understanding of Safer Foods Better Business
  • Experience of varying dietary requirements
  • Empathy towards elderly residents
