(00fb7f2e) We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist a 5-year-old girl diagnosed with a rare neurodegenerative genetic disorder. This condition presents various challenges, affecting her speech, mobility, and overall health. The ideal candidate will possess experience and a nurturing attitude to provide essential support both at home and within the community, engaging in activities such as hydrotherapy, baking, and arts and crafts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Offer continuous one-on-one supervision, as the child is immobile and relies entirely on caregivers for all mobility and handling needs.
  • Administer fluids, nutrition, and medication through a gastrostomy tube.
  • Provide emergency epilepsy medication as needed, following specialized training.
  • Assist with all aspects of personal care.

Working Hours

10 hours per week with flexible scheduling options to be discussed with suitable candidates.


Compensation

£13.09 per hour, with holiday entitlement of 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Any necessary out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed by the employer.


Candidate Requirements

  • Experience and understanding of working with children with disabilities.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with complex healthcare needs.
  • Strong initiative and reliability, as the child requires constant supervision.
  • Flexibility and a positive, caring demeanor.
  • Commitment to confidentiality.

A full, clean driving license is required, along with insurance for business use. The successful applicant will also need to obtain an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), with costs covered by the employer.
