This forward-thinking company is building a brand-new in-house data team to manage their critical data assets and projects, previously handled by a third-party supplier.

We are seeking two experienced Azure Data Engineers to play a pivotal role in this exciting migration journey.

As an Azure Data Engineer, you will be heavily involved in project work (80%) with some ongoing operational support (20%). This role offers a hybrid working model, requiring one day onsite per month in Bedfordshire with flexibility available.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Developing robust ETL data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
  • Writing Python/Pyspark scripts and T-SQL for data management within a lakehouse architecture.
  • Leading migrations from on-premises SQL Server to Azure SQL Server.
  • Creating insightful dashboards to meet stakeholder requirements.

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • Proven experience migrating large, complex datasets from on-premises SQL Server to the Azure cloud.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python/Pyspark.
  • A successful track record of completing data migration ETL projects to new systems.
  • In-depth expertise in Azure Data Warehousing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a confident approach to knowledge sharing within cross-functional teams.
