Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in enhancing teaching and learning across various subjects. Your duties will encompass:

  • Classroom Assistance: Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons, offering one-on-one assistance to students, and facilitating small group sessions.
  • Tailored Learning: Collaborating closely with students needing extra help, modifying educational materials, and providing focused interventions to ensure every student achieves their full potential.
  • Classroom Management: Aiding in the maintenance of a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging respectful behavior, and applying behavior management techniques.
  • Student Assessment and Monitoring: Assisting educators in evaluating student progress, delivering feedback, and documenting student data to inform instructional strategies and interventions.
  • Participation in Extracurricular Activities: Engaging with the broader school community by supporting extracurricular initiatives, such as clubs, sports, and school outings, promoting student involvement and personal growth.

Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in any discipline, reflecting your dedication to academic success. A minimum of a 2:2 classification is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling you to foster positive relationships with students, educators, and parents.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude, showcasing your passion for education and your commitment to supporting student learning.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, as you will be engaging with various subjects and teaching methodologies.
  • The capability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, contributing to a supportive educational environment.
  • A current DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.


To be eligible for the role of Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant with GSL Education, you must:

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Provide an updated CV with two relevant references from the past two years.
  • Hold a DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
