Role Overview
As a senior developer in the digital channels team, you will oversee the coding and maintenance of front-end applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. You will collaborate closely with architects, business analysts, fellow developers, and delivery managers to introduce new products and services that align with the demands of prioritized projects and programs. This role also provides the chance to engage with other digital developers from easyJet and collaborate with leading agencies.
We seek an individual with a strong background in creating digital experiences utilizing the latest Backend for Frontend (BFF) patterns and micro-frontend architecture. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of application development, as well as the independence and rapid deployability of services through automated CI/CD pipelines. A passion for the applications delivered, from development to operation, is essential. The position requires robust front-end development skills, complemented by an understanding of the entire technology stack and the cloud technologies that support application functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of new and existing solutions, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Prepare and assist in designing and documenting technical solutions for both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate with technical architecture and peers to establish and agree upon technical standards, frameworks, tools, and patterns for applications, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
- Identify, mitigate, or resolve technical risks within solutions, ensuring clear communication and management of any risks or issues.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and conduct technical code reviews to ensure consistency and compliance with agreed standards.
- Actively participate in all agile ceremonies and contribute to the enhancement of our dev-sec-ops capabilities.
- Offer technical leadership and support within the team, including mentoring and coaching junior members.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in developing solutions using technologies such as React, Next.JS, and .NET.
- Prior experience as a senior developer in building web applications.
- Familiarity with content management systems; experience with Sitecore/Sitecore XM or similar platforms like Contentful is advantageous.
- Understanding of modern CMS patterns and their role in a fast-paced development environment.
- Experience in an Agile development setting, adhering to agile software delivery values and principles.
- Experience in testing methodologies, including Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
- Experience in developing solutions within high-transaction, high-availability environments at an enterprise scale.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership within development teams, both in solution design and implementation.
- Ability to translate technical architecture into practical implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of code and database refactoring techniques.
- Good understanding of network and infrastructure concepts.
- Experience with DevOps and cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
- Familiarity with software automation production systems (e.g., GitHub).
- Experience with code deployment tools (e.g., GitHub, Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation).
