Livestock Procurement Manager

The Foyle Food Group is seeking a skilled Livestock Procurement Manager to join their team at their Melton Road site in Leicestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a progressive beef processing group in the UK and Ireland.

In this role, you will be responsible for procuring livestock from existing suppliers, preparing delivery schedules, generating reports, identifying new suppliers, and cultivating relationships with current suppliers and industry contacts. A strong agricultural background and knowledge of beef farming are essential for this hands-on role.

You will be the primary point of contact for livestock producers supplying the Melton site, working closely with them to understand their needs, identify changes, and cultivate relationships. This will involve promoting the Foyle brand to secure new livestock producers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procure livestock from existing suppliers and identify new suppliers
  2. Prepare delivery schedules and generate reports
  3. Cultivate relationships with current suppliers and industry contacts
  4. Work closely with livestock producers to understand their needs and identify changes
  5. Promote the Foyle brand to secure new livestock producers

Requirements:

  • 3rd Level Education qualification or equivalent in agricultural or food-related discipline
  • Strong agricultural background and knowledge of beef farming
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Accuracy in recording information and attention to detail
  • Good team player with flexibility and reliability
  • Current valid UK driving license
