Interim Finance Manager (Charity) - Hybrid Role - Circa: £35,000

We are excited to partner with a reputable charity to source an interim Finance Manager to cover a selection of responsibilities handled by the Deputy Director of Finance, as she heads off on maternity leave. This is a full-time contract with an anticipated duration of approximately 15 months, with potential for extension.

The role will be based from the charity's offices, with onsite parking, and the organisation is open to flexible and hybrid working arrangements. The incoming Finance Manager will work closely with a highly experienced and supportive Finance Director, managing a team of 3-4 and playing a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance and development of the charity's digital accounting platforms (Xero, Sage, and bespoke tools)
  2. Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of transactional-focused colleagues
  3. Ensure adherence to charity reporting deadlines and procedures
  4. Regularly partner with other colleagues and departments outside of finance, leading and influencing on best practice
  5. Regularly attend strategic and operational meetings, reporting on financial position
  6. Attend board meetings with the CEO, alongside the Finance Director
  7. Assist with month and year-end procedures, and annual audit
  8. Budgeting and forecasting
  9. Cashflow reporting

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager who can bring a sound understanding of payroll policies and a good understanding of digital accounting systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing teams and ensuring high-quality financial operations. Experience gained in a not-for-profit setting is desirable, but not essential. We are open to receiving applications from candidates with vocational experience or those who are part/fully AAT qualified (or higher).
