As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of pedestrians and promoting a culture of road safety awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use your judgment of speed and distance to determine when it is safe to stop traffic and allow pedestrians to cross the road.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of road use and traffic awareness to effectively manage the school crossing service.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, children, and other stakeholders to promote a safe and healthy environment for pedestrians.
  • Provide excellent verbal communication skills to effectively interact with the public and respond to their needs.

Working Hours:

The successful candidate will be required to work term-time only, with duty times covering the period before school opens in the morning and the period after the school closes in the afternoon.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of road use and traffic awareness.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
