Hours: Monday - Friday (7:00am - 4:00pm) Plus every Second Saturday (8:00am - 12:00pm)
Job SummaryOur client is seeking a practical, proactive, and hands-on warehouse operative who is interested in progressing into an assistant warehouse manager role. The warehouse is well-stocked with a vast array of metals, which are regularly replenished. You will work with your team and service providers to ensure customer orders are prepared and packaged for collection or delivery efficiently and on time.
This position offers the opportunity to develop skills in managing operations, with a focus on the warehouse, delivery service, purchasing, and stock control. You will learn about metal, its procurement, sale, storage, movement, and processing.
Main Responsibilities- Manage store trucks, route planning, and delivery performance using tracker software.
- Manage store stocks in line with procedures, including purchasing, discrepancy investigations, and more.
- Manage cutting and processing machinery, equipment maintenance, and servicing.
- Manage forklift and lifting equipment maintenance, servicing, and training.
- Ensure Health and Safety rules are adhered to by staff.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in the warehouse.
- You will be a good organiser, productive, eager to learn and grow, able to work independently and as part of a team, reliable, with good timekeeping and attendance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Health and Safety knowledge.
