Job Summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in the Essex & Suffolk region. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for water and wastewater schemes.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned Civil Engineer to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our programme of work. You will be working closely with our Regional Discipline Lead - Civil and Senior Design Manager to develop and implement design solutions that meet the requirements of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cost-effective design solutions that meet the requirements of the specification and can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
  • Ensure that standard practices are utilised wherever possible to maintain competitiveness and provide estimates and feedback for our Proposals department.
  • Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department and assist in developing procedures and processes.
  • Monitor and review procedures and processes to ensure they are efficient and effective.
  • Write, update, and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
  • Ensure coordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWH Treatment to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are coordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
  • Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
  • Assure customer satisfaction by working within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognised as the key to achieving other objectives.
  • Maintain a personal development plan and assist in supervising and developing staff.
  • Assist in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and reduce waste to a minimum from all departmental activities.
  • Ensure designs take account of environmental issues and ensure that design takes full regard of all health and safety requirements.
