Job Overview

This position is full-time.

We are in search of a skilled pharmacist with outstanding clinical and communication abilities to become a part of our pharmacy team as a Band 7 clinical pharmacist. Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience, have completed or be in the process of completing a postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification, and demonstrate well-honed clinical pharmacy skills. We also encourage applications from pharmacists with backgrounds in acute or primary care who are eager to explore new career avenues. There may be opportunities to expand practice into mental health services.

In addition to the requirement for travel, your responsibilities will encompass regular dispensary shifts in the main Trust dispensary and an on-call commitment, thus possessing a valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle is essential.

The successful candidate will receive support to enhance their clinical skills through funded postgraduate education and to develop their management capabilities. For those who do not already hold such qualifications, this will include pursuing a postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in clinical pharmacy practice, as well as training to become an independent prescriber.

Main Responsibilities

Your role will involve delivering clinical pharmacy services, improving the pharmaceutical care of patients, supporting the provision and advancement of medicines management services, and engaging in training, education, and audit activities. The department provides assistance to elderly care and rehabilitation units, where patients may present complex needs requiring infusions, oxygen, and basic ventilation. You may also need to offer guidance for patients in the community who are supported by community teams.

Your primary focus will be to deliver clinical services and cultivate the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and ward rounds, as well as provide medication education to patients, caregivers, and staff. Ensuring seamless transitions from inpatient care to community teams, home, and care facilities will be a crucial aspect of your role. You should be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a larger team.

Applicants should hold a Master's Degree in Pharmacy or an equivalent qualification, along with current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Job Responsibilities
