Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Front-End Software Developer to join our dynamic team on an 18-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will collaborate with the DevOps team and various stakeholders, playing a crucial part in the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of software applications. Your contributions will be pivotal in optimizing user experience, accessibility, and overall usability, ensuring that our services efficiently adapt to evolving demands.

The technology services you will help shape are essential for the operations of our staff and the functionality of our digital platforms. Your expertise will be vital in influencing the architecture, infrastructure, and detailed configuration throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in front-end software development while collaborating with other development teams and quality assurance.
  • Offer technical leadership, promoting best practices in development processes, particularly in DevOps and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Execute software development tasks as a primary developer on the team; conduct peer reviews and pair programming to ensure high-quality design.
  • Implement agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered results.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key external suppliers, partners, and business colleagues to enhance their contributions.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in developing with HTML and CSS, particularly HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Familiarity with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap and Foundation.
  • Knowledge of SASS or LESS for CSS generation.
  • Capability to create responsive websites compatible across various browsers and platforms.
  • Ability to produce functional UI code from provided wireframes or graphical layouts, adhering to brand and style guidelines.
  • Experience in testing user interfaces and optimizing performance, including automated testing tools like Playwright.
  • Proficient in JavaScript, including libraries and frameworks such as React and Angular.
