About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionic Capability Lead to join our team at QinetiQ. As a key leader for our engineering and project teams, you will be responsible for ensuring the Aviation Engineering Centre (AEC) fulfils its optimum capability performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a clear plan for the future strategic roadmap and drive continuous improvement in avionic systems.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure standards and safe delivery of avionics, communication, and aircraft electrical systems.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with the Project Management Office (PMO) functions.
  • Participate in robust change management throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of avionic systems, including communication, navigation, and flight control systems.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities and experience operating in a senior engineering leadership role.
  • Substantial experience of CAA Part 21.J and MAA DOAS aviation regulations and certification processes.
  • Demonstrable experience as CAA Part 21.J Compliance Verification Engineer is highly desirable.
Qualifications
  • Degree at Grade 2.1 or higher in an appropriate engineering subject.
  • Recognised as a subject matter expert in the field of avionics, aircraft electrical, and communication system design.
