About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sonographer to join our team at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality ultrasound services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including obstetrics, gynaecology, general abdominal, MSK, and vascular procedures.
  • Work independently to prioritize patients and organize workload from various referral pathways.
  • Ensure that urgent patients receive a fast and efficient service.
  • Communicate complex information regarding diagnosis/treatment directly with clinicians and patients.
  • Train, supervise, and assess undergraduates, postgraduates, apprentices, and clinicians in the specialist field of ultrasound.
  • Contribute to the development of a learning environment within the department by maintaining an up-to-date professional knowledge through continuing professional development (CPD).
Requirements
  • Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent qualification in Medical Ultrasound.
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work extended days and weekends to promote a 7-day working ultrasound service.
