Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team at Valeo Foods UK in York. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Reporting and Prioritization

Ensure timely reporting of breakdowns and planned maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize production.

Machine Performance Monitoring

Monitor and analyze machine performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to maintain high standards.

Collaboration with Planning Department

Work closely with the planning department to negotiate machine availability and ensure seamless production operations.

Technical Support

Provide technical support to production teams as needed to ensure efficient and safe operation of equipment.

Housekeeping and Compliance

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.

Requirements
  • Relevant Engineering Qualification

A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

Competency in Isolation and Electrical Safety

Proven ability to work safely and competently in isolation and electrical safety procedures.

FMCG Experience

Experience working in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, preferably in a maintenance or engineering role.

PC Literacy

Proficient in using computer-based maintenance systems and other software applications.

Machine Maintenance and Repair

Ability to strip and reassemble machines, complete machine size change procedures, and make adjustments as needed.
