English Teacher Job Description

GSL Education - Yorkshire is seeking a dedicated and inspiring English Teacher to join our team in Sheffield. As an experienced educator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping young minds and fostering a love for literature and language.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Lesson Planning: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons that align with the curriculum and educational standards, catering to a range of abilities.
  • Student Engagement: Inspire and engage students through dynamic teaching methods and interactive activities.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources, contributing to the school's English department.
  • Relationship Building: Foster a positive relationship with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a cohesive learning community.
Required Qualifications:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience as an English Teacher in the school level, with a passion for the subject and a commitment to student success.
  • Classroom Management: Strong classroom management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and differentiate teaching approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to collaboration and commitment to continuous professional development.
