BAM Construct & Ventures UK Ltd is seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to contribute to our mission of building a sustainable future. This role is essential in providing nutritious meals at educational institutions, ensuring that our young learners receive the best possible nourishment.
Work Schedule:
- 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, during term time only
Compensation:
- £11.98 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
As a Culinary Specialist, your primary duties will include:
- Preparing meals according to established recipes and methods.
- Ensuring compliance with current food safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintaining a clear distinction between clean and dirty processes.
- Preparing food for both chilled and hot transportation as necessary.
- Serving food and operating a cashless till system.
- Utilizing management systems to uphold food safety records.
- Restocking and replacing consumables as needed.
- Assisting the Kitchen Manager in organizing and securing storage of supplies.
- Providing excellent customer service to all patrons.
- Working safely with kitchen equipment and addressing maintenance issues promptly.
- Monitoring stock levels of kitchen materials accurately.
- Supporting the achievement of financial targets set by the Catering Manager.
- Contributing to waste management through precise product measurement.
- Engaging in continuous personal development through training and courses.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas.
- Following instructions from senior management and the kitchen manager.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for individuals who possess:
- Experience in a catering environment and teamwork.
- Skills in cooking and food preparation for large groups.
- A willingness to pursue recognized catering qualifications.
- A Level 2 Hygiene Certificate (desirable).
- Knowledge of health and safety best practices in the kitchen.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good ICT skills (desirable).
- Ability to operate relevant kitchen equipment.
- Awareness of COSHH regulations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Understanding of health and hygiene protocols.
- A commitment to ongoing training and development.
- A clean driving license and willingness to drive (desirable).
