Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Inspection Engineer to work onshore in the Southampton region. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-service plant inspections on a refinery plant, ensuring the highest level of asset integrity and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Written Schemes of Examination (WSEs) in accordance with the Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR).
  • Create high-quality inspection work scopes to satisfy WSE requirements, specifying access, insulation removal, and NDT needs.
  • Collaborate with the NDT team to provide clarification on NDT inspection techniques and ensure integrity objectives are met.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports describing the assets' condition.
  • Review WSE and inspection frequency post-inspection to confirm accuracy and relevancy.
  • Participate in the Risk-Based Assessment program for pressure systems equipment.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have in-service inspection experience of process piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, distillation columns, and PRVs, with knowledge of accompanying design codes. Additionally, they must meet the UKAS definition for category 3 inspection engineers, including a minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant discipline, with at least one year spent working in an engineering discipline associated with in-service inspection of pressure systems.

  • ASME Plant Inspector Level 1/2 certification.
  • API 570 Pipe Inspection certification.
  • API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection Certification.
  • API 653 Tank Inspection Certification.
