Job Title: Steel Fixer

We are seeking a skilled Steel Fixer to join our team at AWD online. As a Steel Fixer, you will be responsible for positioning and securing steel bars or steel mesh to reinforce concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set out the work area using site plans and technical drawings
  • Cut and bend bars or mesh to meet specific requirements
  • Tying rebar together with wire, clips, or welds to build up sections
  • Fitting spacers and supports to ensure structural integrity
  • Fixing the wooden formwork and shuttering used to hold setting concrete in place
  • Fixing steel to concrete bases and installing beams and pre-cast slabs
Requirements:
  • NVQ in Steel Fixing or equivalent qualification
  • Valid Blue CSCS Card
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and site plans
  • Extensive experience within a similar role, with a focus on tying reinforced steel
