About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Signalling Design Engineer to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our signalling design team, you will be responsible for reviewing, verifying, and leading the production of signalling design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the production of signalling design deliverables in accordance with client and governance requirements.
  • Provide expertise in reviewing and leading the delivery of signalling projects to meet defined timescales.
  • Mentor junior members of the signalling discipline to ensure knowledge transfer and development.
  • Ensure quality by maintaining knowledge of current practices, processes, standards, and emerging technologies in relation to the signalling discipline.
  • Collaborate with project teams to share knowledge and best practices.
Requirements
  • Holder of Signalling Principles Designer, E Engineering Manager (Design) or E Senior Engineering Manager (Design) licence, and/or registered with professional engineering institution (IRSE, IET etc.) at IEng or CEng.
  • Experience of acting as Signalling Design CRE.
  • Experience of delivering signalling design as part of multi-disciplinary rail systems projects.
  • Commitment to professional development and retaining the highest standard of signalling design technical skills.
  • Ability to work in a number of differing consultancy environments and situations across the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain good communication and cooperation with all project team members.
  • Understanding and experience of working within project budgets while maintaining the delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Commitment to delivery to internal and external clients, with the view towards timeliness, reliability, safety, and accuracy of completed tasks.
  • Experienced in the use of all MS Office packages.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of UK signalling principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of signalling systems of all generations.
  • Understanding of CDM regulations.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Holder of v6 Signalling Design Verifier.
  • Institution membership; IRSE, IET etc.
  • Institution registration; IEng, CEng etc (if in addition to applicable IRSE licence).
  • Holder of PTS.
  • Engineering qualification; Degree, HND, HNC etc.
  • Experienced in the use of common data environments such as ProjectWise.
