Job Title: Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic and proficient oncology team at The Montefiore Hospital in Hove.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise and leadership skills. As a Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for managing direct patient care, safely administering SACT, and working closely with other site-specific Clinical Nurse Specialists and the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a clinical caseload and safely administer SACT
  • Work closely with other site-specific Clinical Nurse Specialists and the multidisciplinary team
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure patient needs are met
  • Offer patients a Holistic Needs Assessment and provide a care plan
  • Provide specialist advice to deliver clinically effective care to cancer patients and their families
  • Promote a culture of respectful relationships and patient involvement in care decisions
  • Evaluate and assess patients and their family's needs and treat, support and refer as appropriate
Requirements:
  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working at a senior level within cancer services and the administration of SACT
  • Hold an accredited SACT administration course
  • Competency in the UKONS 24 Hour triage Tool
  • Post registration course within cancer care
  • Excellent communication, organisational & IT skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
