Epic Games is seeking a talented Engine Feature Programmer to join our team and contribute to the development of Unreal Engine's media functionality. As a key member of our engineering team, you will work closely with our experts to design, implement, and maintain high-performance media client features for our internal games and the Unreal Engine itself.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop media client features for our internal games and the Unreal Engine
  • Implement and expand media functionality between the client, engine, and backend
  • Establish comprehensive developer toolsets to streamline media integration across gaming and film projects
  • Collaborate with internal customers to optimize media integrations and provide technical guidance for long-term maintainability
  • Stay up-to-date with current techniques and research to drive innovation in media development
Requirements:
  • Strong C++ knowledge and experience with multi-threaded programming techniques
  • Experience in designing and implementing performant and resilient network clients
  • Proficiency in implementing robust APIs for frontend and backend
  • Experience with Unreal Engine, ideally with projects developed in UE4 or UE5, and thorough knowledge of the Blueprint system
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with client engineering teams to develop and iterate on features/tools
  • Experience developing in a large codebase at a fast pace, making trade-offs between usability, performance, and power
