Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multiskilled Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Cumbernauld. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machinery and equipment is installed, maintained, and operated to maximize production output and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair: Carry out planned maintenance programs and schedules, recommending improvements where appropriate, to ensure efficiencies are maximized.
- Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Carry out fault diagnosis and repair breakdowns promptly to ensure downtime is minimized.
- Line Efficiency and Wastage: Analyze line efficiency, wastage, and downtime data with a view to identifying areas for performance improvement.
- Health and Safety: Carry out all duties in accordance with safe working practices and factory hygiene standards.
- Reporting and Documentation: Produce detailed written reports when and where required, i.e., downtime sheets and line log books.
- Equipment Operation: Operate machinery if required to ensure efficient manufacturing team working.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion a part of the line, taking ownership, producing SOPs and PPMs to improve efficiency and throughput of the lines.
Requirements:
- Education: Educated to City & Guilds level or equivalent in a Mechanical/Electrical engineering discipline.
- Experience: Preferably experienced within a multi-skilled food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems and processes, proven knowledge and experience of initiating and implementing continuous improvements, lean manufacturing, and Six sigma techniques.
- IT Skills: Strong IT skills.
- Decision Making and Communication: Good decision-making skills, confident, and approachable.
