LV Commissioning Engineer - 400kv Onshore Converter Station

Join Hunter Philips Executive Search in our search for a skilled Commissioning Engineer to work on an iconic Offshore Wind project.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning LV distribution systems and ancillary systems in onshore substations/converter stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Witness and verify EPC contractor commissioning activities for LV distribution and ancillary systems, ensuring alignment with project specifications and standards.
  • Conduct and review functional tests on LV systems up to 1kV, including security, HVAC, and firefighting systems.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and client requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including test reports, inspection records, and punch lists.
  • Identify, report, and facilitate the resolution of any technical issues or discrepancies during the commissioning process.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, EPC contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify the readiness and quality of installations, providing feedback and recommendations as needed.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with 3-5 years' experience in commissioning LV distribution systems and ancillary systems (security, HVAC, firefighting) up to 1kV. Proven experience of UPS, batteries, and charger commissioning & troubleshooting activities is essential.

A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, is required. The ability to work on-site 5 days per week and adapt to project demands and schedules is also essential.
