About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Design and Technology (DT) Technician to join our team at Tradewind Recruitment. As a DT Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality DT education to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all DT equipment and materials are properly maintained, inspected, and ready for use in lessons.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical assistance to teachers and students during practical lessons, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Inventory Management: Effectively manage the inventory of DT equipment and materials, ordering supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked department.
  • Health and Safety: Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all staff and students.
  • Event Support: Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment for DT projects and exhibitions, ensuring a smooth and successful experience.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the DT department, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Resource Development: Contribute to the creation of innovative teaching resources and practical projects, enhancing the DT curriculum.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical skills and a good understanding of DT equipment and materials are essential for this role.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management abilities are required to maintain a high level of efficiency in the DT department.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively support both staff and students, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • DBS Check: A valid DBS check is required for this position.
