Pool Lifeguard

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join Fife Council as a Pool Lifeguard, providing support to the Community Use team in a leisure facility. As a member of the area team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for pool users, providing emergency treatment when required, and assisting with the directing of customers to allocated areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for pool users
• Provide emergency treatment as/when required
• Assist with the directing of customers to allocated areas
• Ensure PPE is available for customers and replenished for instructors/tutors and toilet/reception areas
• Check booking summary with customers using outside areas and ensure Covid guidelines are adhered to by all
• Be aware of risk assessments and procedures in relation to building operations
• Work alongside other janitorial staff to ensure smooth transition and service
• Ensure procedures are adhered to

Requirements

• Valid NPLQ Qualification
• Standard Grades (level 3 or above) or National 5 (level C or above) in English and Mathematics, or equivalent
• Good organisational and practical skills as well as a common-sense approach to different requests and situations
• Experience of dealing with customers
• Ability to follow procedures/instructions and an aptitude to be flexible
• A good positive team player
