About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Systems Engineer to join our team at Sensata Technologies. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions that enhance our manufacturing processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that meet the needs of our manufacturing environment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our software solutions are efficient, reliable, and scalable.
  • Tool Development: Participate in the development of end-user tools for data analysis, reporting, and workflow processes with database communication.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing software and improve processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Requirements Management: Organize the Design and Test Lab departments on requirements of new functionality.
  • Integration: Participate in the integration of in-house software for our test equipment.
  • On-Site Support: Take part in on-site software debugging, machines further adaptation, and optimization.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree required (i.e. Bachelor's degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

Essential Criteria
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in software development, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Programming Skills: Proven experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java, or.NET.
  • Software Development Life Cycle: Strong knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Software Design: Proficiency in software design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Manufacturing Systems: Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Version Control: Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development practices.
  • Database Management: Experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
Desirable Criteria
  • Lean Manufacturing: Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • IoT Solutions: Familiarity with Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and their application in manufacturing.
  • Cybersecurity: Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in an industrial setting.
  • Certifications: Certification in relevant software development or manufacturing technologies.
  • SQL Database Management: Experience and understanding of SQL Database Migration, Restoration, and Maintenance.
  • Data Transformation: Experience with data transformation and ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes.
  • Industrial Automation: Experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, or other industrial automation software is highly desirable.
  • Industrial Communication: Understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
