Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit and Accounts Senior to join our growing audit team at UHY Hacker Young Group. As a key member of our Business Advisory Department, you will be responsible for managing and assisting the audit team on-site, identifying key audit risks, and ensuring appropriate work is done to address those.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Fieldwork Teams: Lead fieldwork teams on larger or higher risk audit clients, ensuring that all audit procedures are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Review Audit Working Papers: Review audit working papers of junior members of the team during fieldwork, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality work.
  • Prepare Draft Accounts: Prepare draft accounts and review disclosures in reference to the applicable checklist, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Client Communication: Discuss/agree any potential audit journals with the client during fieldwork, ensuring clear communication and resolution of any issues.
  • Team Management: Be responsible for clearing review points and addressing any follow-up queries until the date the audit report is signed, demonstrating strong leadership and project management skills.
Person Specifications
  • Leadership Skills: Lead by example and instil a sense of professionalism in the audit team, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Technical Expertise: Have a good amount of post-qualification audit experience, with a strong understanding of audit procedures and regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Ideally a proficient user of Pro Audit (auto automation) and CCH Accounts Production, with experience in group audits (preferably).
  • Team Player: Be approachable to members of the audit team, clearly explain audit testing and technical points to the audit team, and provide timely and constructive feedback to the audit fieldwork team.
