About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Support Worker to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Support Worker for students with Special Educational Needs, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to our students, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with Special Educational Needs, including those with SEMH, ASC, AD(H)D, SLCN, and ODD/Attachment disorders.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care, mealtime support, and mobility.
  • Support students with behavioral challenges, using positive behavior management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support and progress.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to promote student engagement, motivation, and self-esteem.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with SEMH.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor, with the ability to manage challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Basic knowledge of Special Educational Needs legislation and policies, including the SEND Code of Practice.
