Purchasing Director

CV-Library is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team in a dynamic and challenging role. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a key part in driving the company's growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning: Own and deliver on company objectives for the Purchasing department, cascading these to the team, and holding regular meetings to report on progress for key projects aligned with strategic business needs.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory and safety stock levels, optimizing service performance while making the most effective use of capital.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop long-term partnerships with suppliers and improve supplier performance, working closely with quality, engineering, and other functions.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data using Excel, creating pivot charts, and reporting on key metrics such as supplier delivery performance.
- Negotiation: Negotiate freight costs, Inco terms, and payment terms to improve margins and cash flow, and achieve competitive pricing in sourcing activities.
- Experience in material buying and planning within a manufacturing or distribution setting.
- Proficiency in using MRP/ERP systems for supply chain management and inventory control.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Excel, Word, Visio, and Project.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in framework agreements.
