About the Role

Brandon James Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Building Control Surveyor to lead their Principal Design Team in Bristol. As a key member of the company's expanding consultancy, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of Principal Design services within the Building Safety Act framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of specialists to deliver high-profile projects and ensure compliance with the latest safety regulations.
  • Principal Design Services: Oversee the delivery of Principal Design services, ensuring that all designs are compliant with safety standards and risk management procedures.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance on design and regulatory matters.
  • Project Coordination: Liaise with project teams to ensure effective communication and implementation of design safety measures.
  • Policy Development: Develop internal policies and procedures to align with BSA requirements.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with statutory requirements.
Requirements
  • A qualification in Building Control, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in Building Control or Principal Design roles.
  • Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2023 and its implications.
  • Experience leading teams and managing complex projects.
  • A background in risk management and compliance within the built environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
