Project Engineer - Facilities Management Opportunity

Location: Barrow in Furness

Salary: £45k Plus overtime and excellent benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a National Facilities Management company at one of their prestigious clients' sites based in Barrow in Furness who are experiencing significant growth.

Benefits:

  5. On call allowance - 1 in 4, £75 per week, minimum of 4 hours

Hours of work: 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with commercial / technical / operational management to develop contractor lists and identify new business prospects.
  2. Work with the Contracts Manager to prepare annual business plans, highlighting opportunities and developing the small project's operations.
  3. Prepare programmes, method statements, and risk assessments.
  4. Procure labour / materials and sub-contractors in accordance with buying procedures, ensuring waste and costs are minimised.
  5. Liaise with Management, keeping them informed of contract progress and issues that may affect the running of the contract.
  6. Develop an in-house cost-effective and multi-skilled team of Technicians based on current and projected project activity.
  7. Manage and close supervise Staff and sub-contractors.
  8. Stay knowledgeable and up to date in matters relating to Health and Safety and statutory requirements, including CDM Regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
  9. Maintain accurate project administration files and costs (financial records).
The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Extensive experience in a Project Engineering or Senior Electricians role.
  2. Knowledge of key operational management disciplines, e.g., quality control, work planning methods, and Health & Safety practices.
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects.
  4. IT literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, and project management tools).
  5. Valid full driving licence.
  6. Ability to gain SC clearance (supported by site).
  7. Educated to HNC / HND Standard (or equivalent).
