Job Description

Job Title: Director of Energy Services

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our domestic energy efficiency retrofit programmes in England. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of new services to increase the number of homes retrofitted in England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage existing domestic energy retrofit programmes to meet targets set by Severn Wye, contractors, and funders.
  • Develop new programmes and products to support households to reduce their energy use and carbon emissions.
  • Oversee and supervise the work and responsibilities of project teams, ensuring contractual obligations are met, and Severn Wye standards, policies, and procedures are upheld.
  • Ensure budgets and resource planning for all projects, including collaborating with the finance team to maintain and update the project fund management reports.
  • Produce high-quality evaluation, project reports, and plans for senior staff and funders as required.
  • Ensure quality delivery in line with any statutory requirements and our policies/procedures.
  • Provide leadership and line management to motivate, inspire, and support the people working within their teams and across the organisation, embedding our culture and ways of working.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with various organisations and businesses to meet project targets.
  • Act as an ambassador for Severn Wye, promoting its work and achievements and building key partnerships to support the delivery of Key Performance Indicators.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years managing teams & project management experience on complex projects that achieve their aims with high customer satisfaction.
  • Proven track record of financial project management, working to and meeting budgets and targets of at least £500k.
  • The ability to supervise and motivate a team to achieve targets and meet quality standards.
  • A flexible, dynamic, and creative approach, willing to adapt to the changing needs of a medium-sized organisation.
  • Excellent customer care skills – a willingness to understand and deal effectively with customer enquiries.
  • Good general knowledge of the wide range of energy efficiency and renewable technologies.
  • An understanding of household retrofit programmes to reduce energy use.
  • Experience in managing government and local authority funding programmes.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged communities.
  • Good general knowledge of energy infrastructure in the UK.
  • Ability to understand and keep up to date with sustainable energy technical issues and engage in dialogue with relevant stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in the production of promotional or information materials.
  • Experience working within the energy sector.
  • Experience in project development.
  • A track record in customer service management.
  • Knowledge of the energy supply chain.
  • Experience working in, or in support of, local or other statutory authorities.
