Position Overview

Industrial Equipment Technician
Salary: £40,000 (negotiable based on experience)
Employment Type: Permanent
Work Schedule: 5 days a week (with alternating Saturdays)
Hours: 7 am - 5 pm

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues with industrial shredders, granulators, compactors, conveyor systems, and other machinery
  • Coordinating the installation of replacement parts on equipment
  • Conducting thorough inspections of plant machinery
  • Performing routine maintenance on various vehicles, including lorries and forklifts
  • Implementing preventative maintenance strategies
  • Engaging in welding tasks as required
  • Addressing unexpected challenges and devising effective solutions
  • Ensuring the operational integrity of safety systems
  • Installing new components as necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Experience with mobile plant machinery, including forklifts and lorries
  • Proficiency in maintaining or repairing industrial equipment such as shredders or granulators
  • Welding capabilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Able to perform heavy lifting (up to 20 kg)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the maintenance of heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or similar vehicle maintenance
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems
