EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

The role offers a competitive pay rate of £14.40 per hour, with weekly payments leading to a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £29,900 (including expected tronc payments).

This position comes with a permanent contract, requiring a commitment of at least 40 hours per week, with shifts scheduled across any 4 days of the week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate confidence in managing a bustling kitchen environment, capable of overseeing at least two distinct sections.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with the standards set by the Head Chef, covering all menu types including a la carte, room service, breakfast, bar food, and event catering.
  • Execute preparation tasks across assigned kitchen sections while maintaining exceptional knife skills.
  • Effectively multi-task and navigate through peak service periods.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of the kitchen to uphold a pristine working atmosphere.
  • Collaborate as a committed team member, ensuring clear communication with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations.
  • Show eagerness to learn and assist in various kitchen areas.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience in a full-service restaurant as a Commis Chef or Demi Chef.
  • Experience in food preparation, particularly with fish and meats.
  • A passion for quality food and culinary preparation.
  • A strong work ethic and a collaborative spirit.
  • Previous qualifications in Food Safety are preferred, though training in Health & Safety, Allergens, and Food Hygiene will be provided.
  • The ability to remain physically active throughout shifts, including standing for extended periods and working efficiently.
