As a Digital Operational Technology Legal Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational and capability development activities at MI6. This position is based in London and offers a competitive salary ranging from £73,704 to £94,114, depending on your skills and experience.

Flexible Working Arrangements

About MI6

MI6, officially known as the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), is dedicated to safeguarding the UK from international threats, including terrorism and cyber-attacks. Our collaborative efforts with MI5 and GCHQ are vital in providing the government with essential intelligence.

Role Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

  • Provide expert legal advice on a variety of digital, cyber, and technology matters.
  • Support the development of new operational capabilities and technologies, addressing complex legal considerations.
  • Advise on regulatory frameworks, privacy legislation, and data protection laws.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and represent MI6 legal interests in various forums.
  • Contribute to the training and development of operational teams.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A legal qualification (solicitor, barrister, or legal executive) with a current Practicing Certificate.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences.
  • A proactive approach to professional development and legal awareness.
