Warehouse Operations Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Stock and Systems Operative at Wincanton. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of stock and inventory within our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record and manage stock levels to prevent financial exposure and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Proactively manage stock movement documentation and update systems with relevant data in line with agreed procedures.
  • Liaise with customers, hauliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues and ensure seamless communication.
  • Comply with quality, health, and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of stock movements and schedules to ensure service levels and stock integrity are maintained.
  • Provide administrative support to aid the efficient running of operations, including layout profiling and general administrative tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required to fulfill the role and contribute to the success of the team.
  • Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues by adhering to safe working practices.
  • Attend training courses as required to develop your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills to interact with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Highly flexible and committed individual who can adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail to ensure work is error-free and meets high standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while providing flexibility and reliability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages, including Excel, to an intermediate level.
  • Familiarity with Manhattan WMS is desirable but not essential.
  • Motivated individual who can work under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and provide excellent support to the team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to operational demands and changing priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility to meet the demands of the role.
