Job Overview

The NHS North Of England Commissioning Support Unit is seeking a dedicated Paramedic to deliver exceptional healthcare services. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and managing patient care while adhering to established protocols and procedures.

As a vital member of our clinical team, you will collaborate with various healthcare professionals, including GP partners, nurse practitioners, and mental health workers, to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Your responsibilities will include consulting with patients both in the practice and during home visits, addressing a diverse range of health concerns, from minor ailments to chronic disease management. You will engage in thorough patient assessments, clinical evaluations, and treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities

- Function as an independent clinician, supported by GP partners.

- Ensure that clinical practices are safe, effective, and within your professional competencies.

- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, taking into account both physiological and psychological factors.

- Gather detailed patient histories and perform physical examinations to establish potential diagnoses.

- Refer patients for necessary investigations or specialist consultations as required.

- Collaborate with GP partners to finalize diagnoses and treatment plans.

- Independently manage treatment decisions, including medication prescriptions, with guidance from GP partners.

- Utilize your expertise to deliver high-quality care that meets the health and social needs of patients, coordinating with the broader healthcare team as necessary.

- Ensure continuity of care through follow-up consultations and visits.

- Evaluate treatment effectiveness with patients and adjust care plans as needed.

- Encourage patients to adopt health-promoting strategies and self-care practices.
