Job Title: Behaviour Support Mentor

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to work with our KS2 cohort, providing support and guidance to pupils with challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with pupils who present with challenging behaviour
  • Lead sports sessions at break and lunchtimes
  • Provide 1:1 support to children in class
  • Use sports as a way to mentor children
  • De-escalate situations where children have shown extreme behaviours
  • Lead academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Liaise with the class teacher and school SENCO around progress of the pupils
Requirements:
  • Holds at least one sports-based qualification
  • Has had either TeamTeach training or MAPA Training (desirable but not essential)
  • Previously supported children with challenging behaviours
  • Has an understanding of supporting SEN pupils
  • Can inspire pupils to reach their full potential
