About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Structural Designer to join our internal civil construction team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our design and construct team, you will be responsible for delivering civil design for multiple projects ranging from £50k to £10m in value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop planning applications, building regulations, and detailed design for highways, drainage, structures, and construction drawings.
• Produce drawing packages including design calculations for all stages of development to provide the most cost-effective solution.
• Conduct land and building surveys.
• Provide structural design advice and expertise to construction projects.
• Support the delivery team and client to fulfill their designer's responsibilities under CDM.
• Check compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Degree/HNC/HND in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Excellent understanding of the 2015 CDM Regulations.
• Practical design experience in construction within the industrial sector (client or contractor biased).
• AutoCAD proficiency.
• Ability to design from first principles.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Member or working towards membership in related Professional Engineering.
• Working in a design consultancy position.
