Job Title: Data Protection

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Analyst to join our IT team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on information security and developing security policies and processes across our infrastructure estate.

This is a greenfield role that requires a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and information security. You will be working closely with the Head of Information Services to identify and mitigate security risks, and to develop and implement effective security controls.

The successful candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for reviewing all aspects of our information systems environment and its components, and for providing advice and guidance on information security matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with information security incident management and response activities
  2. General day-to-day support on managing and responding to security alerts from systems and end users
  3. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly security checks, reconciliation, and compliance checks, and investigate exceptions
  4. Fulfill information security requirement questionnaires and support the process
  5. Identify security risks and report them to the relevant stakeholders
  6. Create security policies, processes, and procedures
  7. Compile a list of technical controls to strengthen our security capabilities and resilience to cyber threats
  8. Be aware of information security risks, mitigations, and opportunities to strengthen our resilience to cyber-attacks and information security incidents
  9. Implementation of monitoring, reporting systems, and applications
  10. Document user requirements and technical training guides
  11. Risk registration and management
  12. Test information security disaster recovery and capabilities, identifying issues and working with the organisation to drive continual improvements

Requirements:

  1. Hands-on experience of information security
  2. Exposure to information security standards, including Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, and 27002
  3. Good understanding of security testing principles, including experience of vulnerability scanning, identifying, resolving, and reporting risks
  4. Documentation creation

Detailed Knowledge:

  1. Information Security
  2. Threat analysis
  3. Reporting
  4. Information incident management
  5. Security Incident Response processes, procedures, and best practices
  6. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity principles
  7. Event and log analysis

  7. Ability to report on progress, timescales, outstanding, and completed activities
