Role Overview

This role is centered on refining and executing the firm's Market Abuse Risk Assessment, ensuring compliance with regulatory benchmarks and providing the Group Head of Compliance and senior management with a comprehensive overview of market abuse risks faced by the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize your expertise to enhance and implement the Market Abuse Risk Assessment process, which includes:

  • Developing the Market Abuse risk taxonomy and associated risk scenarios.
  • Collecting data on business lines to facilitate informed evaluations of their activities, including relevant products, systems, markets, and exchanges.
  • Identifying, articulating, and mapping relevant controls owned by first and second lines for each business unit.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of these controls and associated risks.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of Management Information (MI).
  • Coordinating and managing the MARA process through to completion.
  • Building strong collaborative relationships within Compliance and the business to ensure high-quality outputs of the MARAs.
  • Providing stakeholders with regular updates on assurance activities, including key findings and recommendations.
  • Supporting the Head of Compliance Assurance with ad-hoc compliance-related tasks such as regulatory inquiries and investigations.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders in the business and risk & control functions to ensure a cohesive approach to risk assessments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in Compliance Surveillance, Monitoring, Assurance, Advisory, or Audit roles within a UK regulated financial institution, including substantial experience in designing and managing risk assessments.
  • Subject matter expertise in market abuse regulations applicable to Marex.
  • Familiarity with various asset classes, including Structured Products, Exchange Traded Derivatives, OTC Derivatives, and global exchanges and markets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of compliance regulations and methodologies for risk assessments and assurance activities.
  • Proactive problem-solver, self-motivated, and resilient in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
