About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Mears, a leading provider of housing and social care services. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting a service user living in their own home, who has a Mental Health disability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support in household tasks, maintenance of tenancy, and provision of nutritious meals, as well as offering advice on healthy eating.

No personal care is required for this role, as the service user is able to perform these tasks independently.

About the Service User

Our service user is a young man who values routine and requires consistent communication. He is able to communicate verbally and understand what people are saying, but requires support to maintain his health and well-being.

He enjoys activities such as walking, cinema trips, and social outings, and requires support to participate in these activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the service user with household tasks and maintenance of tenancy
  • Provide nutritious meals and offer advice on healthy eating
  • Accompany the service user on social outings and activities
  • Support the service user to maintain his health and well-being
  • Manage behaviour which challenges in accordance with proactive and reactive strategies
