GSL Education is seeking a Cover Supervisor to provide valuable support in the classroom, covering lessons and ensuring a positive learning environment when teachers are absent.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver pre-planned lessons and manage the classroom in the teacher's absence.
- Ensure students stay on task with their work.
- Support students with any questions or issues they may have.
- Maintain a calm and positive atmosphere in the classroom.
- Work with school staff to follow behaviour and safeguarding policies.
- Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
- A flexible and adaptable approach to working in different classrooms.
- Strong communication skills.
- Confidence in managing groups of students.
- A genuine interest in helping students succeed.
