Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Chef to join our culinary team at one of our care homes. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents, while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef Manager in preparing and cooking meals for residents, ensuring high-quality standards and presentation.
- Monitor and maintain food hygiene and safety standards, carrying out risk assessments and cleaning the kitchen to a high standard.
- Interact with residents, visitors, and colleagues in a friendly and approachable manner, promoting a positive dining experience.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to plan and prepare menus, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
- Maintain accurate records of food preparation, storage, and disposal, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Experience in a catering environment, with a valid food hygiene certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
