We operate across key sectors including Water, Power, Energy, and Aggregates, supported by our regional office network and a manufacturing hub located in Somerset, which is part of our expansive 60,000ft head office complex. Our projects vary in scale, ranging from £5k to £15m, where we assume the roles of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various initiatives, while also supporting our esteemed Tier 1 contractor clients in subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacities.

The Role

This position entails core working hours from Monday to Friday, contracted for 40 hours per week, with additional overtime compensated accordingly. Travel time will be remunerated from door to door, in addition to your contracted and overtime hours.

We are expanding our team in response to increased demand in the Thames Valley region, where you will oversee multiple projects in collaboration with Thames Water.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise mechanical installations with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Ensure that all installations meet the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Actively promote and adhere to the STAR dynamic risk assessment protocol.
  • Coach and mentor Mechanical Fitters, Mates, and Apprentices.
  • Exemplify and promote Bridges' core values in all interactions with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Encourage a culture of health and well-being among peers.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and possess experience in reactive work on industrial civil sites, particularly in upgrading critical assets such as Pumping Station Refurbishments and Steelwork Fabrication & Welding.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor.
  • Background in the Water or Industrial sector.
  • SSSTS / SMSTS certification (mandatory).
  • Relevant City & Guilds trade qualification.
  • CSCS & CCNSG certification (or equivalent).
  • Fitness to work medical certification.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • PASMA certification.
  • IPAF certification.
  • Confined space training.
  • Authorization to Pressure Test (Bridges).
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider certification.
  • EUSR & Thames Water Passport.
