Job Summary:

Leader Recruitment Group is seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Secondary School in North Tyneside. This provision caters to students ranging from 11 to 16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Teacher in the classroom to ensure a smooth learning environment.
  • Be a motivating and supportive member of the team, encouraging students to reach their full potential.
  • Assist students in communicating effectively, using a tailored approach to meet their individual needs.
  • Empower students by acknowledging and celebrating their achievements and small goals.
  • Follow the student's educational health care plans to ensure their needs are met.
  • Contribute to planning classroom activities and preparing materials needed for each lesson.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience of working with children and/or young people with SEMH.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and adaptability to meet all children's diverse needs.
  • Willingness to adapt to the range of duties given.
