As a Technical Services Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design and implement a variety of services that support the entire development team. Collaborating with the Online and Gameplay teams, you will deliver and deploy services that facilitate seamless feature integration, while continuously seeking enhancements for scalability and flexibility in these systems. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor less experienced colleagues, ensuring the creation of high-quality code across the board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and deployment of the live service codebase.
  • Engage in peer code reviews to uphold coding standards.
  • Implement live service features with a focus on performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines (design, art, production) to gather requirements for live service features.
  • Establish online service functionalities such as matchmaking, friends systems, and commerce.
  • Support and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, enhancing the overall quality of the Engineering team.
  • Promote quality within Lighthouse Games and our online services development.
  • Actively participate in fostering a collaborative and creative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience collaborating with design and technical teams to develop robust and scalable online services.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute large projects with minimal oversight.
  • Examples of clean, maintainable code that adheres to established standards and guidelines, including automated testing processes.
  • Awareness of potential risks in your work and the broader project, with proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Experience mentoring engineers at both junior and mid-level positions.
