Quantity Surveyor Job Description

Toro Recruitment is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team in the Utilities sector. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of our projects, ensuring optimal cost control and value for money.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis, including estimates, forecasts, and budgets for projects within the Utilities industry.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts, change orders, and variations, minimising financial risks.
  • Monitor project expenditure and provide regular reports on cost performance.
  • Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and contractors to achieve cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct thorough cost audits and produce accurate financial reports.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with project costs and contractual obligations.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience working with NEC contracts in the Utilities industry.
  • Project value range between £100k to £20m
  • Strong understanding of cost management principles, contract law, and procurement processes.
  • Proficient in cost estimating, financial analysis, and budget management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Company car or car allowance of £450 pcm
  • Hybrid working (3 days in the office & 2 days from home)
